Ship running cost

What does it mean high/low "running cost" in ship description? Do I have to pay when using ships bigger than Marauder?

No, I think it's more that you can do more now. I burn through a ton more fuel in my Wanderer than I did in my Marauder and have dumped a ton of money into kitting it out. Also, more armour/hull will equal more cost in terms of EBKs to fix it. But not, there's no hidden recurring costs that I am aware of.

There used to be a reoccuring cost, but no longer. Just ignore that as editorializing in the item description.
